Spanish Colonial Plug Bayonet Copper pommel Dogs Head Guard
This Spanish colonial plug bayonet is a classic example of early dual-purpose weaponry, likely dating from the 17th or 18th century. These bayonets were designed with a tapered, rounded handle—often made of hardwood or horn—meant to be inserted directly into the muzzle of a musket. This effectively transformed the firearm into a short pike, allowing soldiers to defend against cavalry or engage in close-quarters combat after firing their limited shots. Features a sturdy, double-edged steel blade and a characteristic brass cross-guard, decorated with dog or Wolf motifs. While primarily a military tool, Spanish examples were also frequently used as hunting knives (known as baionetas de taco) and sidearms for self-defense.

If for any reason you do not want to keep an item that you have purchased, simply return the item in original condition within 14 days of receipt. After inspection, you will be refunded the purchase price. Return shipping not included.
