This authentic Navajo double weave saddle blanket is a masterpiece of traditional Diné weaving, blending high-utility durability with sophisticated geometric art. Traditionally used as a protective layer between a horse and its saddle, these blankets are also highly sought after as striking ;wall hangings or floor rugs. The blanket features a field of repeating, nested diamond motifs in alternating beige and black. In Navajo culture, the diamond shape often represents the Four Corners of the ancestral homeland, symbolizing spiritual harmony and protection. The cream-colored background provides a neutral, high-contrast canvas that allows the natural earth tones of beige and black diamonds to stand out, reflecting the traditional use of natural wool shades. Typical handwoven from wool, providing a heavy, high-quality feel that is both breathable for a horse and resilient for home use.
