Native American Female Crow Rock Medicine Bundle

Native American Crow rock medicine bundle historically crafted during the late 19th century.  The Sacred Stone: According to Apsáalooke (Crow) tradition, unique stones or fossils discovered on the earth are considered sacred if they reveal themselves in a dream or vision. This specific artifact represents a female rock medicine, categorized by its distinctive smooth, egg-like pebble shape. The core stone is carefully encased in soft, wrapped buckskin or deerskin, gathered tightly at the top with a matching hide tie strap used for wearing or carrying the bundle. The bundle is adorned with vibrant glass trade beads—including dark blue, light blue, red, and black—individually sewn around the leather casing. In Crow culture, bundles decorated primarily with glass beads were traditionally kept by families to invoke spiritual protection, good luck, and health.
