Native American Sioux Blue Background Infant or Dolls Vest Plains

Antique Lakota Sioux Doll's vest, likely dating from the late 19th. It is a rare example of Plains tribal artistry, traditionally crafted from hand-tanned hide and meticulously decorated with glass seed beads.  The vest is fully beaded using a traditional lane-stitch (or "lazy stitch") technique, which creates the characteristic ribbed texture seen across the surface.Design & Color: The background is composed of vibrant periwinkle blue beads, a classic base color for Sioux beadwork. It features symmetrical geometric motifs, including: Central stepped diamonds in red, white, and dark blue.  Large, bold triangular hourglass shapes in orange-red.  A decorative checkered border in red and dark blue along the edges and armholes  The vest is small in scale, designed for a doll or possibly an infant. It features an open front that was traditionally secured with simple hide ties, which are still visible
