Indian Owned 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine
Indian Owned U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Carbine. Serial number 138 xxx, 45-70 caliber, 22 inch barrel.
This Native American owned carbine has on the right side of its stock the carved symbol of a "circle in a 5 point star" found on several other Indian stolen US military guns studied and written by Robert W. Smith for the magazine "Man at Arms" in 1995.
These guns have been thought of being weapons of members of a Native American warrior society.
