Knifewing Multi-Stone Inlay Brooch Turquoise, Oyster, Jet, Shell 1.1/2" Tall
Regular price
$189.50
This vintage Zuni Knifewing pin is an expertly crafted example of Native American mosaic inlay jewelry, likely dating from the 1930s to the 1950s. The figure represents the Knifewing, a half-man, half-eagle supernatural protector in Zuni culture, characterized by knife-like feathers and warrior connotations. This specific piece features a variety of hand-cut stones, including turquoise, mother of pearl, black jet, and spiny oyster shell, all meticulously set in a sawtooth bezel within a sterling silver frame.
