This item is an authentic 19th-century Plains Native American riding quirt (short horse whip), traditionally crafted and decorated in the Northern Plains style. The piece features a tapered, hand-carved wooden handle embellished with a row of cast brass tacks near the top. The upper section is decorated by a vibrant cochineal-dyed red wool stroud cloth, tightly bound with light contrast wrapping.
