Antique Diamond Willow with Snakes & Brass Tip Walking Stick Cane
This antique walking stick is a hand-carved piece of folk art, likely made from diamond willow and featuring an intricate snake motif spiraling around its length. Measuring approximately 34.5 inches long, this specific design is believed to be of Native American origin, collected in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. These types of canes often date from the late 18th to the early 19th century and are characterized by their natural "diamond" shapes—formed when small branches freeze off the willow—and a brass-tipped base for durability.
Length: 34.1/2
Circa: late 18th to Early 19th century
